The Opportunity
Thailand's economy runs on very small businesses, yet most of them have no reliable digital presence. Existing platforms assume a desktop workflow, English-language forms, business registration and marketing budgets. The opportunity is a tool designed for a phone, in Thai, that a vendor can complete between customers.
The Product Concept
A Thai-first directory and profile platform where a microbusiness can register in minutes, describe what it sells, show where it is, and be found by people nearby. Everything is built mobile-first, in plain language, with the smallest possible number of required fields.
My Role
Product strategy, Thai-market insight, UX architecture, multilingual product design, frontend implementation and ecosystem integration.

Key Features
Mobile-first onboarding
A short, guided registration designed to be completed on a phone, one step at a time, without a desktop or a laptop.
Multilingual accessibility
Thai-first content with English support, written in plain language rather than platform or marketing jargon.
Business discovery
Nearby customers can find vendors by category, area and what they actually offer, not by advertising spend.
Customer communication
Simple, direct contact between a customer and a vendor, with planned LINE and WhatsApp connectivity as a later step.
Challenges and Decisions
Designing for very low friction
Every required field was tested against a simple question: can a street-food vendor complete this while working? Anything that failed became optional.
Thai-first, not translated-later
Thai is the source language for the product experience, so layout, typography and field lengths were designed around Thai text from the start.
What I Learned
- · Digital inclusion is a design constraint, not a feature you add at the end.
- · Reducing the number of required fields does more for adoption than any additional capability.
Current Status and Next Steps
SG MicroBusiness Thailand is an independently developed functional prototype in active development. The current work focuses on multilingual onboarding, accessible business profiles, mobile-first usability and future communication-platform integration. Target users include street-food vendors, mobile vendors, market sellers, home-based businesses, small farmers, craftspeople, freelancers and local service providers. Planned LINE and WhatsApp connectivity is not yet operational. The product shares the ShapGenius Ecosystem design system and multilingual architecture. Next development priorities are completing business profiles, location-based discovery, verified contact flows and the first communication-platform integration.
